Kenzo de la Roque
1998 16.2h Chestnut Selle Francais Gelding
Papillon Rouge x Vania de la Roque
Kenzo was a very talented three-star horse that Lisa produced. He loved cross country and was a super careful show jumper. At the 2011 American Eventing Championships, he finished 10th overall in the Advanced Championship (9th for the US). At his first CCI *** -- at Jersey Fresh-- he was 8th, which followed top placings at Advanced including:
14th CIC*** - The Fork Advanced
3rd - Red Hills Advanced
5th - Rocking Horse Advanced
6th - Pine Top Advanced
Following a suspensory injury and subsequent pasture accident, which injured his left eye and required surgery, Kenzo was retired in May of 2013. Lisa will be forever grateful to this wonderful horse who taught her so much.
Update: Kenzo got bored and wanted a job again, so he came out of retirement to help some of Lisa's students learn to event. Now, at age 26, he is fully retired from competition.
